It is with utmost grief that we announce the passing of NITA co-founder Álvaro Degives-Más. ADM, as we called him frequently, was pivotal in the creation of NITA, along with Tracy Young, Karen Tkaczyk and many other founding members. Álvaro created NITA's website and helped writing NITA's bylaws. He worked to advance language access in the state of Nevada while working as a freelance court Interpreter. In California, he became CFI's Region 2 representative and devised a communication system for CFI members to communicate job concerns during the COVID-19 pandemic. Álvaro was an avid reader of everything law-related, a polyglot, and a brilliant translator. He is survived by the love of his life, Helena, and his son Diego. ADM will be dearly missed!
